Tata Motors has lined up a range of six electric vehicles, in personal and mass mobility segments for the upcoming Auto Expo.

The auto major has already announced that it will present 26 smart mobility solutions across its passenger and commercial vehicles at the expo to be held from 9-14 February.

The electric vehicles are included in those exhibits. This year, the company is focusing on the future trajectory of integrated mobility solutions at the event. The company will reveal its plans for the future of India's Smart Cities and its connected generation, the spokesperson added.

"While we cannot comment on specifics, we can confirm that Tata Motors will indeed showcase an extended range of six electric vehicles, enabling personal and mass mobility, further reiterating our commitment to the government's vision for electrification by 2030," a Tata Motors spokesperson said.

Tata Motors has bagged orders to supply 350 electric cars from Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), while rival Mahindra & Mahindra will supply 150 electric cars.

The first batch of the electric version of its compact sedan Tigor has rolled out from its Sanand plant for supply to EESL.

Commenting on the company's EV roadmap, Tata Motors CEO and managing director Guenter Butschek said, "Working collaboratively with the government to facilitate faster adoption of EVs, we at Tata Motors, are completely ready to drive the EV revolution and build a sustainable future for India," PTI reported.

Meanwhile commentators say electric vehicles are expected to be the star attraction at the show. In  line with this 12 startups will participate in the event being held the Expo Mart in Greater Noida of which nine are in the space of electric vehicles.

These startups are expected to either launch or showcase their electric vehicle products at the biennial event.

While nine of the startups are electric vehicles companies, two startups will showcase their bike customising capabilities.

Additionally, Cleveland, an American start-up manufacturing motorcycles will showcase its mid-range products at the event.

With nine electric vehicle startups as also major OEMs showcasing electric vehicles, the Motor Show at Auto Expo 2018 will feature over 24 electric cars and bikes.
