Hyderabad: Surgical Information Systems (SIS) Software (India) Pvt Ltd, a Hyderabad-based wholly-owned subsidiary of SIS Inc, Atlanta, a major in the US surgical operating room and preoperative-care workflow communication tools, achieved ISO 9000:2000 certification from American Quality Assessors.

The ISO certification is one of the key steps in the organisations overall business objectives. When we set up our India operations 18 months ago, we had set up three objectives and with this we have achieved all of them, says SIS Inc vice-president (system development) Drew S Cobb.

SIS Inc is ranked ninth in the healthcare information systems companies in the US and is the second company to acquire ISO certification, says Cobb. We have 150 customers right now, with the US company taking care of designing and prototyping while the Indian subsidiary doing coding and development. SIS had invested over $1 million in Indian operations last year and plans to invest a similar amount during the current year.
