Professional to head Shasun Chemicals

Chennai: Continuing its efforts to professionalise the management, the board of directors of Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Limited has designated CEO N Govindarajan as CEO and managing director. The promoter-directors who had earlier been the managing and joint managing directors would continue as whole time directors.
Govindarajan, who joined Shasun as a general manager, R&D, project and planning in January 2000 rose to become the vice president, R&D, in less than 18 months. During his tenure as a vice president, Shasun scaled up key custom synthesis projects to the commercial level by developing relationships with multi national organisations.
Govindarajan''s primary responsibility was to provide leadership and strategic management in transforming the company from a family run business to one managed by professionals.
