Satyam receives AS9100 / EN9100 certification for its aerospace domain

Satyam Computer Services Ltd has announced that its aerospace practice has received the AS9100 / EN9100 certifications. While the AS9100 standard is certified by the US Society of Automotive Engineers, the EN9100 is a standard of The European Association of Aerospace Industries in Europe.

The two standards are the aerospace industry's quality system standard for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation, and servicing.

C R Nagaraj, senior vice president, Satyam Quality, said "AS9100 / EN9100 is very significant to Satyam Engineering Solutions group. It reaffirms the processes that we follow for developing solutions to the aerospace industry are of international standards as required by the existing norms of the aero industry. This certification will open up markets for Satyam and reaffirm confidence in its existing customers on Satyam's capability."

Aligning many of the existing aerospace quality system requirements, AS9100 / EN9100 is the first global aerospace standard that meets the requirements of aerospace companies. These standards ensure quality and safety in the "high risk" aerospace industry.
