Sanyo to divest Telecom Sanyo: Nikkei

According to a report in the Nikkei business daily, Japanese electronics maker Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd will sell its mobiles sales division, Telecom Sanyo that serves as a sales agent for Japan''s largest mobile phone operator NTT DoCoMo Inc and other mobile operators, for ¥10 billion ($85 million).

Telecom Sanyo has a network of 60 retail stores for mobile telecom products in Japan including those made by Sanyo.

Sanyo has been selling off businesses as part of its restructuring. It is expected to hold an auction for Telecom Sanyo. According to the Nikkei, Telepark Corp, NEC Mobiling Ltd.and Marubeni Telecom Co are among the likely bidders for the division.
