Samsung launches Wave II smartphone in India

Samsung India today launched the Wave II S8530 smart phone running its proprietary OS 'bada', priced at Rs20,900.

''The 'bada' platform has been designed as a fully integrated platform, which supports cutting-edge applications and services. The launch of Wave II represents our efforts to grow this platform further,'' Ranjit Yadav, country head, Samsung Mobile and IT, said.

The launch of Wave II expands Samsung's bada-based handsets to five, available between Rs8,800 to Rs20,900.

Samsung Wave II is equipped with a 1GHz processor, 3.7-inch LCD display, HD video player and recorder, 5 megapixel camera, 2GB internal memory and expandable memory support up to 32 GB.

It comes with Touchwiz 3.0 user interface lets one operate multiple screens, Quicktype by T9 feature for easy typing, and a social hub feature that integrates all contact information from SNS, IM and e-mail.
