Reliance Fresh to open 75 agro-retail outlets in MP

Mumbai: The modern vegetable and fruits retail format stores under the Reliance Fresh brand of Reliance Retail, will open 75 outlets in Madhya Pradesh starting April this year. In November 2006 Reliance Retail had launched its first Reliance Fresh outlet in Hyderabad.

The stores, which represent the front-end of Reliance's farm-to-fork project, would be opened in Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur in the first phase.

The retail initiative will help farmers to sell their produce directly to Reliance thus saving on transportation expenses. Simultaneously they will benefit from knowledge inputs on new farming techniques to improve their farm yield.

Reliance has chalked out anambitious Rs25,000-crore retail initiative.
