Reliance Energy Generation Ltd (REGL), an ADAE Group company will invite bids for its 5600mw combined cycle power plant (four streams of 1400mw each) that is proposed to be developed at Dhirubhai Ambani Energy City (DAEC) at Dadri in Gaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

The 5600mw Dadri power project will be the world's largest combined cycle power project, for which Reliance Energy has already acquired most of the land and statutory clearances including environmental clearance from the ministry of environment and forests.

Reliance Energy will now invite bids for selecting the equipment supplier for the project on an EPC basis through international competitive bidding, which will be advertised this week.

The project, once completed and commissioned, is expected to address the demand-supply gap of the northern region. The power from the Dadri project will be mainly supplied to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
