RIL merges Jamnagar infrastructure unit into itself

Reliance Industries on Tuesday said it has merged its subsidiary Reliance Jamnagar Infrastructure (RJIL) with itself.

The company said in a communiqué to the stock exchanges that the scheme of amalgamation has been approved by the Gujarat High Court and the merger has been effective from 22 October.

The court's order has been filed with the Registrar of Companies.

''The High Court of Gujarat at Ahmedabad has sanctioned the scheme of amalgamation of Reliance Jamnagar Infrastructure Ltd (or the transfer of company) with Reliance Industries Ltd,'' RIL's filing said.

RJIL is currently developer and operator a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Jamnagar and was into business of infrastructure development, while RIL has interests in the energy sector.
