Power Grid board approves investments of Rs1603 crore on grid projects

Power Grid Corp said on Thursday that its board has approved investments amounting to Rs1,603 crore for various grid strengthening projects.

The central transmission utility has drawn up plans to invest Rs1,217 crore for system strengthening project for Sasan and Mundra ultra-mega power projects scheduled for completion in 32 months, the company said.

It will also invest Rs276 crore for strengthening the southern regional grid to be completed in 28 months.

An additional Rs1100 crore is earmarked for system strengthening of northern region to be completed in 24 months, the company said.

The company announced that the board of directors at its meeting on 3 December has approved the investment proposals.
