Orchid Aurangabad facility bags ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001

Chennai: Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, the Chennai-based pharmaceutical company, today announced that its API (active pharmaceutical ingredients) facility in Aurangabad has been awarded the ISO 14001 (Environment Management System) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) certifications by KPMG.

With this, Orchid joins a select group of companies to be awarded a combined certification for both ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Orchid's major facilities at Alathur, Chennai, already have the ISO 14001 certification.

"These certifications reflect the commitment we have for world-class environment management systems and safety standards. We have accorded the highest importance and emphasis on environment management and safety right from our inception," says K Raghavendra Rao, managing director, Orchid.
