Maxtor increases hard drive warranty period to five years

Mumbai: Maxtor Corporation (NYSE: MXO) has announced a five-year warranty period for all internal (non-retail) PC and server hard drives shipped to its distributors for sale in India. The new warranty period, effective on products shipped on or after 1 January 2005, provides Maxtor's customers in India with an unsurpassed level of warranty protection. It is valid only for warranty services with Maxtor''s in-country service centres.

"This additional warranty coverage demonstrates the confidence we have in the quality and reliability of Maxtor hard drives," said Yogesh Kamat, country manager, Indian subcontinent. Maxtor Corporation — one of the world''s leading suppliers of hard disk drives and data storage solutions — has two service centres in Mumbai, and one each in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
