Motorola launches new camera phone in association with Kodak

The camera has become an indispensable part of the modern mobile phone. Motorola has recognized the growing importance of this segment in India and launched, in collaboration with imaging pioneer Kodak, a high-quality phone that sports a 5-megapixel camera dubbed the Motozine ZN5.
This new product promises to offer an effortless and immersive imaging experience at a reasonable price. The comanies had unveiled plans in June to launch the handset (See: Motorola to launch Motozine ZN5 camera phone with 5-megapixel Kodak lens)
The ZN5 is the first phone to combine Motorola's ''ModeShift Technology'' and Kodak ''Imaging Technology''. In addition, the new mobile phone is preloaded with Kodak EasyShare software.
Moreover, the camera includes an ultra-fast 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and a Xenon flash. The stylish phone also features multiple capture modes like multi-shot and panorama, which automatically aligns, captures and stitches together continuous shots taken on the horizon line into a single, extended image. This is provided under the ambit of Kodak's ''Perfect Shot'' technology.
Users can further upload their photos on various social networking sites through ShoZu via Wi-Fi. User can also transfer images on the computer by Bluetooth or USB. Besides, consumers also have the flexibility of sharing pictures on their television set with a TV-out cable.
According to Ian Chapman-Banks, corporate vice president and general manager, Asia, Mobile Devices, Motorola, ''Today's creative consumers not only want to be the photographer, but also the retoucher, the exhibitor and the critic. Elaborating on the partnership, Ravi Karamcheti, managing director and country business manager, Consumer Digital Imaging Group, Kodak India, said ''Today, Motorola and Kodak have redefined the quality, convenience and connectivity of mobile imaging devices to create a device that not only delivers Kodak-quality pictures, but allows consumers to explore a wide range of options for sharing their photos with friends and family around the world.''
Although no official pricing has been fixed, Motorola says the Motozine ZN5 would be priced at approximately Rs. 20,000. It will be available in India from mid-September 2008 in retail stores and will come with a 2GB memory card and a TV-out cable.
As part of the introductory offer, consumers will get 100 free Kodak prints of their personal photographs at select Kodak stores until 31 March 2009. This offer includes 60 4x6 prints, 15 8x12 prints and 25 prints of photos uploaded to www.motozine.picsquare.com with free home delivery service.
