Motorola, Metrologic settle patent disputes

Cell phone maker Motorola and Metrologic Instruments have settled all outstanding patent infringement disputes, the two companies said in a joint statement on Monday 31 December.
Metrologic and Motorola subsidiary Symbol Technologies have been embroiled in a patent dispute related to bar-code scanning and mobile computing since 2002. As part of the agreement, the two companies will cross-license their patents for a limited term.
