Buoyed by the success of its last small car launch, the Celerio, Maruti Suzuki today announced the launch of the CNG-powered Celerio Green.

Priced at Rs4.68 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Celerio Green is available on the VXi trim (manual transmission).

With Celerio Green, Maruti Suzuki has strengthened its CNG portfolio and offers iGPI technology on six models, Alto 800, Wagon R, Ertiga, SX4 and Eeco.

Maruti had launched Celerio with the revolutionary Auto Gear Shift technology during Auto Expo 2014.

Maruti said, powered by the factory-fitted iGPI technology (intelligent Gas Port Injection) the bi-fuel Celerio Green delivers best-in-class fuel efficiency of 31.79 km/kg in CNG mode, as per test results under Rule 115 of CMVR, 1989.

Presenting the Celerio Green, Manohar Bhat, vice president (marketing) said, ''Brand Celerio has received overwhelming response from the market. The idea of introducing a bi-fuel CNG variant was to strengthen the brand and offer more fuel choices to the customer. We are confident that factory fitted iGPI technology on the Celerio Green will bring all the benefits to customers such as smooth drive and hassle-free maintenance and help us in expanding the Celerio brand.''

Equipped with well-established contemporary iGPI technology, Celerio Green ensures consistently high performance and seamless drive at par with petrol variants.

The presence of dual ECUs ensures delivery of optimum fuel quantity to engine, leading to consistent performance along with improved fuel efficiency.

In addition, Maruti Suzuki engineers have deftly created smart space in the boot to tuck the spare wheel alongside the CNG tank. This adds to comfort by ensuring easy access to the spare wheel when needed.
