Maruti Suzuki India is expected to resume partial production at the violence-hit plant at Manesar, in Haryana, in about a week's time.

The Manesar plant brings out Maruti Suzuki's fast-selling Swift and Dzire models, which is currently out of stock with most of its dealers.

Reports quoting company sources said the management has completed almost all the assessments, including the safety of its employees, so as to begin partial production at the Manesar plant by next week.

The reports said production is likely to restart on Tuesday since Monday happens to be a holiday.

However, the initial work will mostly begin in the automated divisions of the plant as the labour issue remains to be settled, the reports noted.

Maruti Suzuki's chief operating officer (administration) S Y Siddiqui had yesterday said the company would take a final call on restarting production by Friday.
