L&T bags Rs4,000-crore oil sector contracts

Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro has bagged new orders worth Rs4,000 crore ($889 million) in the hydrocarbon sector, including three overseas contracts.

Of the total oil sector orders, Rs2,875-crore of orders are from the UAE, including a Rs2,000-crore ($450 million) from ADNOC subsidiary ADMA-OPCO, a major oil and gas producer, L&T said in a statement today.

The contract encompasses Phase-1 of Nasr & Umm Lulu field development projects, which includes four wellhead towers and a manifold tower platform, connecting bridges and associated sub-sea pipelines.

L&T said it has in-house engineering, fabrication facilities in three locations, including the GCC region at Sohar, (Oman) and its own heavy-lift and pipe-laying vessel, LTS-3000.

The other order is from Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (GASCO) worth Rs850 crore, for its Habshan-Ruwais-Shuweihat (52"/48" dia) gas pipeline project involving EPC installation and commissioning of 123 km of the pipeline to be commissioned in 24 to 26 months.

L&T is currently executing several other pipeline projects in GCC countries for major clients such as ADCO, Qatar Petroleum, PDO, etc.
