LG revealed its own smart fridge yesterday at IFA Berlin, following its unveiling at CSE earlier this year.

While Samsung opted for Tizen in its own fridge, LG opted for Windows 10, which meant one could launch all kinds of Windows apps on the fridge.

LG's smart fridge comes with a 29-inch touchscreen that is also translucent. Further it is also fast and easy to use. LG's own Windows 10 apps are designed to allow the sticking of notes to the fridge, set a timer, add recipes and also health information about meals, or simply mark food that one could see through the translucent display.

Though an Intel Atom processor and 2GB of RAM seemed to be out of place in a fridge, but the idea does seem interesting when it comes to viewing YouTube videos, according to commentators.

With LG opting for a full version of Windows 10 one could also install apps from the Windows Store, play music, or use Cortana for voice control.

While the Windows 10 Start menu blocked out the contents of the fridge when one used it, apps simply blended into the translucent display so one cold have the weather on display while checking how much milk one was left with according to commentators.

LG had not revealed the full specs of the fridge yet or pricing and release information.
