LG Electronics India MD Moon B Shin wins “Man of Electronics” award

Moon B Shin, MD, LG Electronics India has won the ''Man of Electronics'' award at the 31st annual Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA) event.
Sachin Pilot, minister of state for communications and IT conferred the award to Shin for his contribution in the promotion and development of the Indian consumer electronics industry.
LG, which is the market leader in durable industry, reported year-on-year growth of 30 per cent this year and is targeting to achieve $10 billion sales by 2015.
''We succeeded in India because of the localisation, we introduced products based on Indian consumer insights, empowered local employees to take decision. Going forward we will strengthen our product portfolio and will launch products based on consumer insights with right technology,'' said Shin.
Y V Verma, president, CEAMA, said, ''With the total festive market estimated at 9,000crore, the consumer durable industry is doing good, growing at rate of 20 per cent owing to positive consumer sentiment, robust economic growth and other factors which are boosting the sales.''
Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association is an all India organisation in the consumer electronics and durables sector with about 100 members.
