Jet Airways CEO Steve Forte resigns

New Delhi: Steve Forte, CEO of Jet Airways, has resigned from his current position from December 1 this year, citing personal reasons. In a statement, the airline has said that after 41 years in the airline industry, the last 17 years away from the US, Mr Forte has decided to return to the US where he intends to pursue consulting work while spending time with his family.

The chairman and board of directors of Jet Airways have put in place a new management structure, to provide continuity in leadership, policy and strategy formation and to carry on the regular business of the airline, during this important period for the airline.

The board has set up an executive committee for the day-to-day management of the airline, under the personal guidance and supervision of the chairman, Mr Naresh Goyal. The committee will be presided over and led by the executive director, Mr Saroj Datta. The other members of the committee comprise senior executive heads of the operational departments.

The committee will be jointly responsible for the operations and for policy formulation under Mr Goyal's guidance.
