Chennai: With the attrition rate bogging down the business process outsourcing (BPO) outfits, ICICI OneSource has decided to leverage the group presence in other sectors like insurance, banks and infotech to provide career growth to its agents.

ICICI OneSource, one of India''s largest third-party BPO services companies, has decided to implement a career diversification programme for its 4,000-strong agency force. The initiative is designed to give qualified employees the opportunity to further advance their careers by moving to positions within the ICICI group of companies.

"This innovative programme is part of our larger human resources strategy to maintain the high levels of service that our clients have come to expect from us," says Aashu Calapa, vice-president, human resources. "Recruiting, retaining and motivating highly skilled professionals to provide round-the-clock, back-office support to large corporations are much easier with initiatives like career diversification in place."

Under the programme, employees who have been with ICICI OneSource for more than 18 months can opt to switch to positions at other group companies after passing several internal tests. These professional development and career advancement opportunities, in industries such as insurance and banking, include positions in customer service, operations, sales and marketing.

"The ability to move up the ranks at ICICI OneSource or into other areas at one of our prestigious sister companies is a huge incentive to join our team and excel here," says Calapa.
