Hindustan Zinc raises metal prices for a sixth time in one month

Mumbai: Hindustan Zinc Ltd has announced an increase in the price of zinc by Rs4,600 ($102) a tonne, or 2.2 per cent, to Rs212,300 a tonne. This is the a sixth time this month that the company is hiking metal prices.

The revised prices are effective October 28, the company said.

The Udaipur, Rajasthan-based company last raised prices on October 21. Hindustan also announced an increase in the price of lead by Rs1,600 a tonne, or two per cent, to Rs81,500.

Hindustan Zinc is the largest domestic integrated zinc producer with a presence across the entire value chain. The company recently completed expansion of mining, refining, smelting and captive power operations, thereby augmenting capacities to drive volume growth.
