Ambassador registers 32.55% sales growth in December ''04

New Delhi: Hindustan Motors has disclosed a significant increase the sales of its Ambassador car in December 2004, selling 1,303 units as compared to 862 units in the corresponding period last year, recording a 51.16 per cent increase and a 32.55 per cent month-on-month growth (983 units in November ''04).

The strong trend in Ambassador''s sales has been continuing since the beginning of the current financial year. Between April-December 2004, Hindustan Motors sold 8,907 units of the Ambassador as compared to 8,311 units in the corresponding period last year, thereby recording a 7.17 per cent increase in sales.

Commenting on Ambassador''s performance, Soni Shrivastav, general manager, corporate communications, C.K Birla Group said, "The growth in sales performance of the Ambassador can be attributed to the continuous improvements we have been bringing in the product. Our strong marketing network and after sales experience of the customers, are the other key parameters that are driving Ambassador''s sales upwards."
