FMCG giant Hindustan Lever announces senior level changes

FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has announced senior level management changes with Hemant Bakshi being appointed as executive director - home and personal care after the resignation of Gopal Vittal, who was with the company for 21 years.

The company added Manish Tiwary, currently vice president of modern trade, would take over as executive director in charge of sales and customer development.

Bakshi is currently executive director of sales and customer development with the company, HUL said in a statement. Bakshi succeeds Vittal, who is leaving HUL to pursue an external opportunity, it added.

Nitin Paranjape, HUL managing director and chief executive officer, commenting on the development, said Gopal had contributed significantly to building the marketing leadership capability of HUL and he would like to thank Gopal for his invaluable contribution over his 21 years of service with HUL.

The appointment would see Manish join the Management Committee, the top executive team of HUL, according to the company.

Paranjpe further added that Manish had contributed significantly to developing the capability of HUL's modern trade team delivering record growth for the company through the channel.
