New Delhi: Grant Thornton India, a member of advisory and accountancy company Grant Thornton International, is training its Indian staff on a new corporate governance software it has developed.

This will help companies test their internal controls more stringently and identify significant financial statement assertions, map business processes, identify control gaps and hence document corporate governance and process level controls.

Targeted primarily at US subsidiaries in India, which need to meet the requirements of the latest US corporate governance legislation by fiscal year 2004, the software, known as Paisley Focus, claims to make the documenting and assessing activity less cumbersome and more efficient.
