Google prepares to boost advertising revenue in India with appointment of new business heads

New Delhi: Google India, today announced the appointment of  three business heads - Sridhar Seshadri as business head - fnancial services, Parminder Singh as  business head - technology and Narasimha Jayakumar as business head - travel and local for its advertising and monetisation business.

The appointment of three senior business executives is part of Google India's strategy to go deep in these key sectors to deliver significant and measurable growth for customers leveraging the AdWords platform. Industry teams led by these newly appointed leaders will focus on providing counsel to customers regarding their digital, marketing and advertising strategies.

Seshadri will lead a team that will be responsible for the generation of advertising business from the financial services segment and will focus on serving key clients in the banking, insurance, and mutual funds sectors. Singh will head the technology team that drives Google's advertising operations in the technology and telecommunications space in India. Jayakumar's department which includes classifieds and real estate, will similarly aim to grow Google's presence in this space.

Seshadri has a decade of work experience with ICICI Bank, spanning number of divisions such as advertising and marketing,  product development and branch banking.He also held responsinle positions in the rural, agricultural and micro-banking division of ICICI Bank.
Seshadri was nominated as an exemplar for the DNA Awards at the bank, for innovation, nurturing talent and collaboration. After getting a bachelors degree in chemical plant engineering from Mumbai University, Sridhar completed his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.

Parminder Singh has over 14 years of cross-functional experience in strategy and brand marketing with focus in the technology and telecommunication sector. He was the country head of marketing for Apple and most recently head of marketing for IBM's hardware division. He has held important positions in HCL and Cyrix (National Semiconductor), and has been responsible for introducing several best practice marketing campaigns and is also credited with launching and setting up successful distribution networks for high technology products. He was awarded IBM's prestigious Asia – Pacific Role Model award for excellence in the marketing discipline. He holds an MBA degree in marketing from University Business School, Chandigarh and bachelors in Physics (Hons.) from Delhi University.

Narasimha Jayakumar has 10 years of experience across multiple industries having worked with companies such as Expedia Inc, Cendant Corporation, Tata Consultancy Services and IBM India amongst others. Narasimha ran the B2B client portfolio for the distribution business of Expedia Europe based out of London. Narasimha was awarded the "Special Achievement – MD's Award" (2006) and the "Power of Many" Award - (2004) for outstanding contribution while at Cendant, and the IBM 'Outstanding Contribution' for exceptional sales achievement. Narasimha holds an MBA from the London Business School (2002-2004) and a bachelor of technology degree in computer engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Surathkal. He is also a post graduate diploma in management (PGDM) holder from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India, achieving a distinction.
