Goodlass Nerolac bags National Energy Conservation Award 2005

Mumbai: Goodlass Nerolac Paints Limited (GNPL) received the National Conservation Energy Award 2005 for its Jainpur (Kanpur - Dehat) plant. The company has won the first prize in the paint and allied product industry sector in recognition of the company's outstanding achievements and contribution in the field of energy conservation and management

H M Bharuka, managing director, GNPL received the award from Dr APJ Abdul Khan, president of India on 14 December 2005, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The ministry of power, government of India, constitutes the award.

Commenting on the achievement Bharuka said, "We are proud to be announced as the winner; since for the first time the paint industry has been included for this award. It just goes on to show that our efforts have been in the right direction for which we have been acknowledged. We are a responsible and a socially aware organisation and will continue to drive such macro issues with a concerted and dedicated approach."
