Godfrey Phillips H1 sales up 7 per cent, marginal fall in net profit

Mumbai: The Godfrey Phillips, the country''s second largest cigarette manufacturer, has reported net sales of Rs328.01crore for the half-year ended 30 September 2004.

This is a 7 per cent increase over the corresponding period of the previous year (Rs. 306.36 crore). Sales for the second quarter is Rs163.5 crore, up 1.7 per cent from the corresponding period last year (Rs160.77 crore).

Net profit for the first half was Rs25.82 crore, falling marginally from Rs26.3 crore for the corresponding period last year. Profit for the first quarter stood at Rs11.89 crore, a decrease of 8.5 per cent (Rs13 crore).
