GAIL Q4 net rises by 66.5 per cent

New Delhi: The state-owned gas transmission and marketing company GAIL has registered a 66.5 per cent increase in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2007.

The company's net profit stood at Rs 681 crorea in Q4, up from Rs 409 crores in the corresponding period last year. The company's turnover went up to Rs 3,883 crores for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007, up from Rs 3,660 crores for the corresponding period in the previous year.

GAIL's profit for the entire year 2006-07 stood at Rs 2,387 crores, up from Rs 2,310 crores in 2005-06.

The company's turnover for the year under review went up 11 per cent to Rs 16,047 crores from Rs 14,459 crores in the previous year. The board of directors of the company has recommended the payment of a final dividend at the rate of 20 per cent on the paid-up equity share capital of the company for the financial year 2006-07.
