GAIL receives seven bids For Rs973-crore Dahej-Uran pipeline

Mumbai: GAIL (India) Limited has received seven bids (three foreign and four Indian) from manufacturers / vendors for the Rs973-crore line pipe tender for the prestigious Dahej-Uran pipeline (DUPL) project. This GAIL pipeline project had attracted significant interest from overseas bidders. The deadline for submission of bids ended today.

The Indian companies include Jindal Saw Limited, Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd., Man Industries Limited and PSL Limited. The foreign bidders include Leman Commodities SA, Switzerland; Sumitomo of Japan and Liaoyang Steel Company Limited, China.

The 474-km DUPL project is expected to be completed by February 2007 at an estimated cost of Rs1,830 crore. The pipeline will have a capacity of 12mmscmd of natural.
