South Korea's ministry of land, transport and maritime affairs said in a statement, "The recall covers 45,957 Winstorm sport-utility vehicles, 12,604 Lacetti Premiere sedans and 135 Damas microvans."

GM's South Korean subsidiary, Daewoo Auto & Technology will recall 45,957 Winstorm due to defects with the steering system, 12,604 Lacetti Premiere sedans for defects with fuel supply pipes and 135 Damas microvans for using seat materials that do not meet the country's safety standards.

GM Daewoo, South Korea's third-largest auto manufacturer said the Lacetti Premiere sedans, sold overseas as the Chevrolet Cruze sedan and the Winstorm sport-utility sold as the Chevrolet Captiva would be recalled in the overseas markets if they had similar problems.
