Chennai: Ford India has logged sales of 1,737 Ford Ikon NXTs during January 2003 as compared to 860 units of the Ikon — the original version — during the same month last year.

Says Ford India managing director and president David Friedman: “With 149 changes from its original version, the Ford Ikon NXT range has generated a strong buyer demand with sporty exterior styling, interior refinements and the introduction of the new 1.3 Rocam powertrain.”

Ford India plans to sustain its leadership position by targeting an over 20-per cent market share during the year with the Ikon NXT. To meet growing demand, Ford India has expanded its dealer network across India and now has 82 dealer outlets in 67 cities.
