Ford Ikon, Mondeo sales soar

Mumbai: Ford India has sold 3,725 Ford Ikons in December and 110 Ford Mondeos in its first month of launch. Having notched a cumulative sale of 67,835 units since its launch in November 1999, the Ford Ikon has reinforced its leadership in the segment.

The December 2001 sales reflect a 43.5-per cent growth over the December 2000 sales and a 15 per cent per cent growth over the sales in November 2001. In the calendar year 2001, Ford India has registered total sales of 43,341 Ford Ikons, including the 15,211 Ford Ikons sold in the domestic market and the export sales of 28,130 Ford Ikon CKDs.

The recently-launched, award-winning Ford Mondeo is all set to repeat its success in India after receiving an overwhelming response from consumers across the country with a sales figure of 110 units in its first month of launch.

Says Ford India general manager (sales) Sumeet Yadav: "The Ford Ikon is leading the mid-size segment while our latest product offering, the Ford Mondeo, has begun to create an impact, winning rave reviews across the country. We are all set to create yet another success story."

Ford India is participating in Auto Expo 2002, to be held in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan between 15 and 22 January 2002. The Ford pavilion promises to be the most zinda dil stall at the expo and will offer visitors an exhilarating experience of illusion, excitement and surprises. During this event, the company will showcase some of Ford Motor company’s exciting range of products for the first time in India.
