Ford India posts 50 per cent sales growth in September

Mumbai: Ford India has registered a 50 per cent growth in sales in September 2009 as compared to the corresponding month last year. It sold 3,405 units in September 2009 as against 2,273 units during September 2008.

Ford said that September had been one of the best-selling months during the current year recording a 38-per cent sales increase on month-on-month basis compared to August 2009. It said the third quarter witnessed a 24 per cent increase compared to Q3 2008.

Nigel Wark, executive director, marketing, sales and service, Ford India, said, ''We are seeing an overwhelming response to our product line-up with continued strong demand for the Ikon and the Fiesta. The new Endeavour that was launched earlier this month is performing sensationally well and has seen an unprecedented interest evinced by customers at our dealerships as we still are in the process of a phased national launch".

Ford India recently introduced the new design look Endeavour 3.0L with 5-speed automatic transmission and also unveiled its upcoming small car Ford Figo at an event in New Delhi in the presence of Alan Mulally, President & CEO, Ford Motor Company.
