LiFY developer released

New Delhi: Linux For You, Asia's first Linux magazine, has released LiFY, a developer version of LiFY (Linux from India For You). It is integrated with free programming tools, documentation and tutorials. It is totally free for any personal and business use. It is developed at LFY Labs, New Delhi.

Till now, setting up a software development operation used to be a very expensive proposition. The cost of operating system and development software used to be almost 10 times the cost of the hardware. The LiFY developer will make possible for new software developers to set up their entrepreneurial operations. It will also drastically reduce costs for existing software development companies.

Linux has the active support of various government bodies, industry organisations (MAIT, Nasscom) and commercial organisations (IBM, Oracle). More and more companies are implementing Linux for their business operations. The LiFY developer will expand the utility of Linux towards software development with some of the finest software development tools and tutorials.

The development tools included with LiFY Developer include Anjunta (advanced IDE for C/C++), KDevelop (multi-platform IDE), GAMBAS (Visual Basic like development environment), Tora (Toolkit for Oracle), Visual TCL, PTUI, DBFORMS, Emacs, gdb, CVS, Zope, PHPMyAdmin, Jalopy, RHIDE, Perl, C/C++ and many others.

It also contains a tutorials on Perl programming, shell programming, Linux programming, Network programming, PHP programming, TCL, Software development practices, Porting, MySQL, and many others.
