Daimler India launches 3 BharatBenz truck models

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of the world's largest manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, Daimler AG, today launched three `BharatBenz' models, its exclusive new brand of trucks for the Indian market.

The three heavy-duty trucks - 2523R, 3123R and 2523C – launched today are among the first of the 17 heavy and medium duty trucks the company plans to manufacture under the BharatBenz brand in the near future.

The 2523R and 3123R, which are meant for the haulage segment and the 2523C, which is meant for the construction segment, would be available with dealers across the country, the company said.

Daimler India plans to bring out a range of trucks in the 6 to 49 tonnes range based on the Mercedes-Benz Axor platform.

Daimler has 90 dealerships across the country and plans to launch seven products this year and another 10 products beginning January.

The entire BharatBenz product range will draw on Daimler trucks' technological expertise in order to address the special needs of Indian customers.
