Dominos posts $15.4 million after-tax profit

Domino's Pizza Enterprises Limited (DMP) has posted a full-year after-tax profit of $15.4 million, which is up almost 30 per cent on the year-earlier figure.

In the year ended June, Domino's added 38 new stores in Europe and seven in Australia and New Zealand. Its online orders have increased and now comprise almost 23 per cent of sales in Australia.

Domino's net profit for the year ended 28 June was $15.35 million as against $11.83 in the previous year. Its profit growth this year is expected to surge 15 per cent after a 29.7 per cent jump in 2008-09 profit.

The company recorded strong network sales growth of 14.4 per cent at $676.4 million in the year while annual earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation grew 11.5 per cent to $28.3 million. Earnings per share rose 22.8 per cent to 22.6 cents.

The company's board declared a fully franked, final dividend of eight cents, which boosted the year's total dividend to 12.4 cents per share.

Chief executive Don Meij said the company would add around 40 to 50 new stores to its retail chain during this year.
