Dell Inc, the third-largest PC maker in the world, has filed a lawsuit against Sharp Corp, Hitachi Ltd, Toshiba Corp and two other companies alleging price fixing of LCD displays.

The company filed the suit at a US district court in San Francisco on Friday against the five firms, including Seiko Epson of Japan and HannStar of Taiwan, according to a spokesman at Dell's Japan unit.

The spokesman said on Monday that Dell had not decided the level of damages it would seek in the lawsuit.
