Hyderabad: The Asian sales and marketing arm of the Netherlands based Cordys Systems BV, Cordys Asia, formerly known as Vanenburg Asia, has launched Quality Manager, a packaged software solution.

Quality Manager will address the diverse aspects of product quality management in manufacturing — research and development to production and raw materials inspection to finished goods including post sales customer complaints.

Says Cordys Asia vice-president Ravi Vedantam: "Indian manufacturing organisations now can take advantage of the specialised Quality Management software to benefit from good manufacturing and laboratory practices, improve the overall performance of their quality process, reduce manufacturing costs, shrinks the incidence of faulty products, and improve customer satisfaction."

Customers deploying Cordys Quality Manager will have access to comprehensive functionality pertaining to quality assurance and control, inspection management, supplier management, non-conformance management including both corrective and preventive action (CAPA) and laboratory information management system (LIMS). Emphasising the relevance of Quality Manager in the era of real-time businesses, Jan Hujbers, the solution architect of Quality Manager, Cordys Systems BV, says: "By providing connectivity to multiple sites, suppliers, and customers, Quality Manager enables organisations to centrally manage all of their quality operations — providing real-time visibility followed by quick action. The results are a lean, performance-driven enterprise that can respond to change with speed and power."

Talking about the business plans, Vedantam says: "We would target chemical, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, petroleum, breweries, and food and beverage, industries. The Quality Manager has been very popular in Europe where it has more than 200 customers, which include Philips, Boeing, Shell, KLM, Roche, and Sara Lee. We are inspired by its phenomenal success in Europe and are committed to replicate the same in India and other regions of Asia."

Cordys Quality Manager can be integrated with ERP applications for management of suppliers or with MRP (manufacturing resource planning) applications for coordination of manufacturing processes. Additionally, customers can also keep track of their processes through key performance indicators such as, cost of poor quality, defective material events, and number of corrective action. Reports unique to particular requirements can be created; these include the number of problem reports, problem report response time, and overdue problem fix responsiveness. Alarms and notifications can also be set for any condition, using Quality Manager.
