Cisco appoints Varghese Thomas as senior manager — corporate communication

Mumbai: Cisco Systems, the global leader in networking for the Internet, has announced the appointment of Varghese M Thomas as the senior manager in charge of corporate communications for Cisco''s operations in India and SAARC. Varghese will be responsible for all external communications initiatives for Cisco with its customers, industry associations, analysts as well as the media in the region. He will report to Ranajoy Punja, vice president — marketing, Cisco Systems, India and SAARC.

Varghese joins Cisco from Intel Technology, where he worked as PR manager for three and a half years. At Intel, Varghese was responsible for public relations in the Indian and Sri Lankan markets. Prior to Intel, he worked as the head of the Chennai office for Genesis PR. He has also worked with several top public relations consultancies in India and has a cumulative experience of 10 years in the business.
