Cholamandalam MS General Insurance opens first branch in UP

Mumbai: The Chennai-based Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Ltd (Chola-MS), one of the leading private sector general insurance companies has opened its first branch office in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh — its third office in the north after Delhi and Chandigarh.

The Lucknow branch office, the company''s 15th , will offer a complete range of general insurance solutions to both individuals and corporates. Chola-MS is focussing on the growing demands of corporates, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the retail segment in northern India.

Speaking at the inauguration, Arun Agarwal, chief executive, Cholamandalam MS General Insurance said, "With the launch of this office, we reinforce our commitment of being a pan-Indian player, keen on strengthening our presence across geographies," and added, "This new branch has been opened with the mandate to cater to the growing demands of our customers in Uttar Pradesh. It will be fully networked to offer prompt and reliable services to our valuable customers."

Since its inception in the year October 2002, Chola-MS has sold over three lakh policies in the year 2003-2004 and has been present in every possible business segment in the country.

Chola-MS is a joint venture of the Murugappa Group and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company Ltd, Japan''s second largest insurance group with a gross written premium (GWP) of 10045 Million USD in 2002, and operations in 36 countries. Chola-MS offers a wide range of products that include accident, engineering, health, liability, marine, motor, property, travel & rural insurance for individuals as well as Corporates.
