New Delhi: Blue Star, a central air-conditioning major, has bagged a Rs 13-crore (MUR 82 million) order for air-conditioning Mauritius’ largest IT facility, Ebene Cyber City, promoted by Business Parks of Mauritius.

The project was awarded to Blue Star against stiff competition from several national and international players.

Ebene Cyber City is the first of its kind in Mauritius in line with the country’s mission to transform itself as ‘a Cyber Island’. It will be used as a strategic channel to service African and French markets.

There are already 150 infotech companies in the field of consulting, hardware, software and training operating in Mauritius. The total built up area of Ebene Cyber City is 40,000 square metres. The proposed tower will have a basement, ground floor and 11 upper floors.

Says Blue Star executive vice-president V V Inamdar: “We are confident of completing the project within the stipulated time period of 12 months. We are also confident of bagging orders for a few other software technology parks that are being set up in Mauritius.”
