Bharti Tele-Ventures ranked 'best Indian carrier' by Telecom Asia

New Delhi: Bharti Tele-Ventures has been ranked the 'best Indian carrier' in the Telecom Asia Awards 2006, widely regarded as the most prestigious awards in the Asian telecommunications sector.

Telecom Asia publishes Telecom Asia, Wireless Asia, ComputerWorld Hong Kong, Enterprise Network Asia, and has a readership of over 80,000 from among telecom and IT professionals around the region. It also hosts the web site www.telecomasia.net.

Manoj Kohli, president, Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited, said, "It is a matter of great pride for us to be recognised as the Best Indian Carrier for the second consecutive year. It is heartening to note that Bharti's efforts in creating world-class telecom infrastructure are being recognised across the world. Bharti Tele-Ventures is one of India's leading private sector providers of telecommunications services with an aggregate of over 20.93 million customers at the end of March '06, consisting of more than 19.58 million mobile customers. The company is the only operator to provide mobile services in all the 23 circles in India.
