Mumbai: Airtel has reduced STD and ISD tariffs for its mobile services.

ISD tariffs have been reduced by Rs1.75 per minute and STD by Rs0.35 per minute. The reduction is based on the removal of the access deficit charge (ADC) payable to BSNL, amounting to, on an average, Rs0.20 for calls between 50-200km and Rs0.50 per minute for calls over 200km. The new rates are applicable with effect from February 1, 2005.

Announcing the new tariffs, Manoj Kohli, president mobility, Bharti Tele-Ventures, said, "Airtel customers will continue to enjoy special Airtel to Airtel STD Tariffs at Rs2 per minute"

The introduction of these tariffs is subject to the implementation of the new TRAI guidelines on the ADC.
