Bajaj Auto two wheeler sales up by 18.7 per cent

Bajaj Auto Ltd sold a total of 97,595 motorcycles during the current month — a growth of 18.7 per cent.

The new Bajaj CT-100 has sold over 43,400 numbers in the current month. CT-100 is stylish and has a fuel efficiency of 101 km per litre under standard test conditions. Launched in May 2004 it has been very well received in the market. With over 64,000 units sold in first 58 days of launch (till June 30, 2004), the product is expected to garner higher volumes in the coming months.

In the premium segment, the Pulsar twins recorded a sale of 23,515 in June 2004. At 14.7 per cent growth for April — June 2004, Bajaj Motorcycles year on year growth was significantly ahead of the industry growth rate of approximately 10 per cent.

In the three-wheeler segment, the sales during the month were 21,750 numbers, a growth of 16.3 per cent. Exports for the month were 16,383 numbers as against 11,792 numbers in June 2003 - an increase of 38.9 per cent.

With exports of 50,025 units and a growth of 46.7 per cent for April — June 04, Bajaj continues to be India's top exporter of motorcycles, two-wheelers and three wheelers.
