Bajaj Auto Q2 net rises 46%

 Mumbai: Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) has registered a 46.51-per cent rise in its net profit for the second quarter ended 30 September 2003 to Rs 193.37 crore, compared to Rs 131.98 crore during the corresponding previous period.

The total income was up 24.91 per cent at Rs 1,545.31 crore (Rs 1,237.13 crore), including a 20.65-per cent gain in net sales/income from operations to Rs 1,427.71 crore (Rs 1,183.26 crore), and a 160.45-per cent increase in other income to Rs 103.4 crore (Rs 39.7 crore).

Export earning increased by 61.76 per cent to Rs 128.6 crore (Rs 79.5 crore). For the first half, BAL's net profit was Rs 354.43 crore (Rs 253.79 crore) on the total income of Rs 2,862.82 crore (Rs 2,482.88 crore).

Net sales/income from operations moved up to Rs 2635.43 crore (Rs 2,385.88 crore) while other income touched Rs 205.09 crore (Rs 74.25 crore).
