Blue Dart celebrates 25 years of pioneering service

Blue Dart Express, a premier and pioneering integrated express, courier and package distribution company, operating in the Indian subcontinent, has entered its 25th year of operations.
Today the company commands a 41.7% share in the domestic organised air express market. The company began operations in 1983 on a modest capital base of Rs 30,000, and is today a Rs 670 crore company.
According to the company, it has an unmatched reach extending to over 17,600 locations today. The company caters to over 26,000 loyal customers across all industry verticals. Blue Dart operates 6 air freighters across 62 air routes, with a payload capacity of 300 tonnes per night, and plans to add another B-757 to its existing fleet.
As part of the DHL Group, Blue Dart accesses the largest and most comprehensive express and logistics network worldwide, covering over 220 countries, and offering an entire spectrum of distribution services, including express, air freight, ocean freight, supply chain solutions, freight forwarding, customs clearance, project handling and charters through the four business units in India - DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Exel Supply Chain and Blue Dart.
