Bharti Airtel ties up with Novatium to expand broadband business in India

Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has tied-up with cloud computing service provider Novatium to expand its broadband business in India.

Under the arrangement Novatium would offer cloud computing – internet-based computing services - 'Airtel Net PC', for Airtel broadband customers in India, according to Bharti Airtel Telemedia Services-CMO Vikas Singh.

Singh said the service would be launched in 11 cities starting with Chennai over the next six months.

He said it would be like a plug and play service and the company would specifically target the middle-income category.

The service would be offered in three plans for Airtel customers – Airel Net PC Plus plan A that comes at a one time cost of Rs4,999 including the Nova Navigator device, a USB keyboard and mouse.

Net PC Plus plan B at a cost of Rs 8,999 would include a 15'' LCD monitor. A bundled offer of Net PC along with a 169 GB hard disk drive would be priced at Rs10,999 and existing customers would be able to avail the service from any of the Airtel outlets in the country.
