BSNL offers discounted tariff plan for EV-DO users

BSNL has come out with a promotional plan that will be available to users of Evolution Data only or Evolution Data Optimized (EV-DO)- based broadband connection at a discounted price of Rs750 per month. The same service cost was being offered for Rs999 per month until now.
Under the plan offers users will avail "unlimited" data usage at a maximum speed of 3.1 Mbps. Existing as well as new users can go for the plan however, the offer is valid only upto 31March 2010.
The plan however comes with a fair usage policy which means in excess of a usage limit beyond BSNL prescription, users would be liable to pay Rs0.50 per MB, which analysts say might not be cheap.
BSNL's EV-DO is a CDMA-based 3G technology service available only in select towns across India. It is not clear as yet though as to in which cities currently being serviced by the EV-DO service would the new tariff plan be offered.
This plan provides a number of schemes including unlimited usage; 3G-based wireless technology, usage of internet on the move and is available in five different plans –0.5, 1, 2, 5 GB. It also offers unlimited downloads at different tariff rates Rs199, Rs299, Rs449, Rs649 and Rs999 respectively.
