Bharat Forge, the country’s top auto components manufacturer, is set to enter the electric two-wheeler space in alliance with Tork Motors, which is also 49 per cent owned by Bharat Forge.

Pune-based EV manufacturer Tork Motors has now met the FAME II regulations, and it is likely that it would be for joint production of upcoming electric motorcycle models. Tork Motors’ T6X model should be eligible for government subsidies as well.
As of March 2021, Bharat Forge owns a 49 per cent stake in Tork Motors.
The Tork T6X is India's first electric performance motorcycle. Built on 7 years of exhaustive research and development, the T6X comes from a stable of thoroughbreds, having shared the drawing board with an Isle of Man TT, TTXGP finishers.
The T6X ushers in a host of new features for the smart modern urban commuter, driven by technology poised at the cutting edge.
Enough torque to smoke most challengers. Enough race cred to make anything on two wheels blush.
Over a decade, Tork Motors has indigenously designed and developed multiple electric motorcycles – from those meant for urban commuters to racing machines.
The Tork T6X has been under development for a while and if everything goes as planned, it could roll off the production line soon. As per Bharat Forge and Tork Motors, the launch timeline for their EV is set for the second half of 2022.
As of now, the Indian electric market is populated with EVs like the Revolt RV400 (electric motorcycle), Ather 450X, Ola S1, Simple Energy Simple One, TVS iQube Electric and Bajaj Chetak among the known electric scooter names.
